I am quite sad – because we are doing this thing called “moving overseas”, my humans are going to sell our house and another family is going to live here!
So we have been very busy getting the house ready – making it look nice for other humans to look at, because if they like it a lot, they will give us more money paper and then my humans will be very happy. Money paper is very important to humans, although us dogs don’t really understand why.
My human, Hsin-Yi, has been running around the house this whole week, taking things out of drawers and cupboards and putting them in a big pile and then making stressy faces. Then she put some things in boxes and put others which we don’t need anymore in big bags, for a van from a place called Auckland City Mission. They take the things in the bags away to give to other humans who need them. Now our house looks very empty but Hsin-Yi says this is good because this means it will look nicer and bigger to other humans.
My other human, Paul, went to hospital last week for an “operation” to help a sickness in his back. He is back home now but the Human Vet said that he cannot do anything until his back is better. So he cannot help much. I tried to help Hsin-Yi but she just kept shouting “Move, Honey! Move!” and making frowny faces at me.
So in the end, I just went to give Paul “get-better-cuddles”.
Oh yes, I have also been very busy in the big garden at the back. I am not usually allowed to go there but this time, I was allowed to go and help the “tree trimmer” humans who came to cut our trees and make them smaller, so that there is more sunshine in the garden. I was sure there was something in the hedge so I spent hours looking at it – so exciting!
We have also had lots of people come to the house this week. First we had some humans come with a big scary machine which made a lot of steam and they pushed that all over the carpet. I had to stay out of the house when they were doing that – and then Hsin-Yi wouldn’t let me back in all day afterwards, until the carpet was dry!
Humph!
Then some other humans came to fix all the broken lights; some more humans came to clean the house everywhere and then Kevin, the really scary human with the long noisy machine came to do lots of things in the garden.
Hsin-Yi was very busy with him, planting lots of new flowers to make the garden look more colourful and of course, I had to help supervise everything. It’s really exhausting work you know!
Look at all the beautiful flowers I helped plant!
Then some other humans came – one was a Camera Human who took lots of pictures of the house and even asked me to pose in some of the photos!
Here I am - what do you think?
A big group of House-Selling Humans came too – their job is to help find other humans who might want to live in our house. They made a big fuss of me, which I really liked.
Hsin-Yi has been so busy with everything that she hasn’t had time to take me walking for 3 days! But I don’t mind – I’m so tired after all these people coming and going and all the things I had to “supervise” that I just want to crash into bed by sunset every day!

Honey, you did a good job helping out in the garden. The flowers are so very pretty! Poor Paul, please give him a furry hug for me.
Love, Dino
