I had a great play date with my friend, Kira, today!
We went to the Waiatarua Wetlands Reserve, which is the biggest and nicest dog park in Auckland – it has trees to sniff, hills to climb, open fields to zoom around in, long grass to hide in, duck ponds to wade in and lots of rabbits to chase! (+ rabbit poo to roll in…
)
It’s a great place to meet doggie friends for a playdate ‘coz there is so much space to play and chase without worrying about crashing into anybody!
Kira always loves teasing me and getting me to chase her – but she is so fast and agile, I can never catch her!
After all that running, we had a dip in the pond to cool off…
Kira found a really muddy hole and had a good roll…her human was horrified when she came out! She looked like a different dog!
Ok – we’re off again!
We finally stopped long enough to take a nice photo together…
I shall really miss Kira when we leave New Zealand – she is such a great friend!
Kira is really clever and she is part of the German Shepherd Display team, where her special trick is jumping through fire hoops!
(To see a photo of Kira jumping through a fire hoop and for more about her, please go to the Honey’s Friends page)
Here is a video of us playing and having fun – hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed making it!

Wow Honey!
Kira’s certainly a great pal and very talented too! U’re sure gonna miss her alot when you move to Taiwan. U know in Singapore, breeds like german shepards and rottweilers have to be muzzled in public. Sad isn’t it? But there are really some very nice and sweet german shepards and rotties out there who are really sweet dogs!
