A walk to the village… & Flight Centre

First, my humans want to say thank you to everyone for your lovely messages of support about us not doing the “moving overseas” thing next year – it has been a really tough few weeks for them and they really appreciated everyone’s kind words and thoughts.

Although we are remaining in NZ next year, my humans are still going away over Xmas & New Year to see their families who live in faraway places called Dubai and London – and me and Lemon will be going into the Airport Pet Hotel, where we usually stay when our humans go away. (This is a great place – I’ll tell you more about it soon!)

Come on! Hurry up - it looks like it's going to rain and you know how I hate that wet stuff!

So yesterday, my human, Hsin-Yi, had to get the tickets to go on those big flying machines.

She decided to take me on a big walk up to our local village and the Flight Centre shop - instead of going in a car machine - because it is more “environmentally-friendly” and also because it was time for my afternoon walk anyway.

But it’s a LOOOONG walk up to the village and it was so hot and humid…I kind of wish we just went in the car machine!

Everyone in the shop was really excited to see me – as usual! (sorry the pictures are blurry)

Hello!

Hello!

honeyflightcentre-jocelynThey gave me lots of cuddles and some lovely cool water to drink after that hot walk! I also got to take a photo with the famous Flight Centre captain :)

Right, time for the walk back home…

Thank goodness, Hsin-Yi decided to take a detour through Waiata Reserve - this is a lovely, off-leash park near us. Ah…so much cooler than walking on the pavements!

I met one of my friends – a cute, little scruffy puppy called Tess:

Hmmm...do I smell cat??

Hmmm...do I smell cat??

OK, time to move on… I like to sniff behind every bush and hedge to make sure that no cats are secretly lurking there… Ooh, I was sure there was one here behind these red flowers!

Finally! We arrived back home…the whole walk had taken 1 and half hours! (I know that may not be much for some of you more athletic types but that is a LOT for me…you know us Danes have no stamina! :) A stroll around our garden and we need a snooze to recover!! :) )

My paws are killing me!

Whew! I was knackered…being “environmental” is hard work! :)

  • Hello Honey! Thanks for your long but wonderful message on my blog. My mummy totally appreciates what you have said and is happy that she is doing a proper job with me!

It’s so nice of the Flight Centre to welcome dogs. Many places in Singapore do not allow pets. That makes it’s pretty difficult for my parents to bring me around.

Mummy and I hope that Hsin-Yi will have a fruitful shopping trip in Singapore and haul back lots of goodies for our favourite Great Dane!

  • That sure was a long walk that you had!

But with you long legs I bet you had a lot less steps to make.

    Kisses

  • Honey, as usual, what a nice post!
I have so much fun with your blog!
Ya know, I still laugh about the “wiping but” thing… ooohhh God…. I keep imagining my big male human, who is 1,95cm tall (that’s why I call him a Great Dane) wiping my tooshie in the streets… oh, My… OLOLOLOLOLOL…
Is it just my impression or have you grown taller?
I loved all the photos, but especially that one with you running around… your ears look so funny and cute!

Woffie kisses (and slobbers too, yeeeep, u should see me drinkink water…)

  • Hi Honey,

Thanks for dropping by at my blog! I used to date a supermodel model when we were living for China and, she looks like Kate Moss! Gertie (that’s her name) is tall and lanky but I don’t think she’s as tall as you.

I’m from Oz. I flew from Oz to Singapore. Then, we had to relocate to Korea. After living in Korea for a while, we moved to China and now, we have moved to Holland. Yes, we are moving all the time!

Hsin-Yi is a good writer. We enjoyed reading her articles. Keep it coming! And, you’ll be seeing me more!

    Love,
    Homer

PS: Yes you can link me to your blog!

  • That looks like a beautiful park to walk in and I bet there were lots of great things to smell. Of course you were a big hit at the travel agency.

    Your friend,
    Niamh

  • One of my favorite dogs at the dog park is a Great Dane. I like you.
