You know, they say that us Great Danes are impossible to train – that we’re too stubborn or stupid or “difficult” – but that is so not true! OK, we might need a bit more patience and effort but if you are persistent and use reward-based methods, we can learn just as many things as the clever collies and others!
My humans have never let the fact that I was a Dane stop them from doing any kind of training they were interested in – they just believed that I could do it and enjoyed the challenge of training me! 
Here’s a video that my human, Hsin-Yi, made a while back – of us practising some obedience exercises in Auckland Domain…look at all the things I can do!

We’ve been slacking off on my training lately too, as my human has had a cold for the last couple weeks and can’t do too much activity. But now we’re gettin’ back into it! My human just taught me how to weave backwards through her legs, it’s so much fun!

I think my favorite one was your drop on command….that would be hard to stop mid-run and drop…WOW! I also think it would be hard to stay down while your Mom jumped over you….I think I will have to try these things with my Mom.
