Yay, it’s the weekend!
Since our dance routine is coming along quite nicely and we’ve been working really hard - my human, Hsin-Yi, thought we could have a break from training this weekend.
But that doesn’t mean that I haven’t been keeping busy…!
First of all, I helped Paul do his special exercises for his back, so that he doesn’t get the back sickness again like last year, when he had to go for The Operation…
Paul has his own ball but it’s not like my tennis ball or even my football – it’s HUGE! It’s called a “Swiss Ball” and Paul likes to sit on it or lie on it, rather than chase it (as I keep saying, humans are very odd…).
It was getting a bit small so I helped Paul to pump it up!
I also had a very nice walk in Waiatarua Wetlands Reserve, which is one of the best off-leash parks in Auckland (it’s the one with all the rabbit holes I was telling you about last time!). It has been raining A LOT in the last few days and so everything was really boggy and muddy – but my humans said I was due my bath anyway, so I could get as filthy as I liked! Yay!
I met LOTS of dogs on our walk – my favourite was Eddie the Greyhound…whew! You’d never seen a dog run like that!!!!!
Oh, here’s a nother video I wanted to show you! Hsin-Yi says it is the most uplifting thing she has seen in a long time…she kept laughing all the way through it. The dogs are Lance the Corgi and Vito the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever (‘Toller’) – and they live with Luke the kitty and lots and lots of ferrets!
Wow – it’s so wonderful and amazing how they all live and play so happily together (their human has a blog which talks about them, if you’re interested!)
Ferret Boogie:
And here’s another video to bring a smile to your face!
This is specially for my kitty blog friends, Daisy the Curly Cat, Juniorbabee & Orion and Bruce the Cat!
“Rat loves cat”:
Finally, I’ve just found out that I have been nominated for the Dogs With Blogs (DWB) Awesome Blog Award! Am so flattered and honoured. Thanks to Cocoa & Barley for nominating me! If anyone would like to vote for me, please click here
(You may have to register if you’re not already a DWB member) The poll closes on Sat Jun 27th. Thank you!

Ah, the cat and rats video was so sweet! I would love to have some wonderful rattie friends like them.
Oh, those videos are so relaxing and cute, I love them all, thanks Honey for sharing.
Congrats on the nomination, I’ll vote for you, babe!
Haha, about the back to back trick, I’m only at my mom’s knee level, ah, I know, I make her kneel down to do that trick with me!
Love ya lots.
Today is Father’s Day in the State, have a nice one, Honey!
Hi, Honey!
Thanks for sharing all those videos!
The ferrets are so funny!
Congratulations on your Nomination!
Kisses and hugs
Lorenza
Great videos & a whole lot of fun!!
Happy Father’s Day to your Dad Honey!
Those are all great videos! You are so very helpful with your Dad…helping him blow up that gigantic ball.
We loved watching all you woofies run around in the park. That Greyhound IS fast!
The ferrets are so funny. Their jumping and rolling around.
And the cat and the rats….cute! Seems like those tiny rat claws would feel kinda good on a cat.
Crabilated is grumpy….especially when the crabilation shows in the face. If you saw Daisy the Curly Cats post on Thursday the 18th, the last picture of her is a purrfect crabilated face.
You were a great help with Paul’s exercises. Maybe you could be a fitness coach. He is lucky you were there to help him pump up the ball.
Your day at the dog park looks like lots of fun. Did I see some little black Pee-Wee type doggies there? You were a good girl to come when your mom called even though I could tell you wanted to go exploring.
The ferrets are amazing! But not the sort of thing for big dogs such as ourselves to have about.
Slobbers,
Mango
Good thing that you help supervise Paul’s exercises – I bet he wouldn’t do them right if you weren’t there watching! I agree with Mango – I see a future for you as a human-trainer!

Hey Honey! Do you know what you get when you cross a Great Dane with a Cairn Terrier? A GREAT DERRIERE! hehehehe! Thought you might want to spring that one on Paul the next time you’re training him!
Your pal,
Petey
Wow, so many fun videos to watch. Honey helping Paul with his ball was hysterical, made even more so by the silly lady who had a bad case of the giggles – loved it!!! Those ferrets are nuts – look at all that energy. Our neighbor boy lost his ferret outside a few weeks ago and had signs posted everywhere. Mom thought for sure he was a goner but somehow they managed to find him and he was just fine.
Nice to have so many pup friends to meet too.
Woos, the OP pack
You were such a great help Honey – helping to blow up your Dad’s ball. Great video!
We watched the ferrets and rats too – the little man’s mum is not mad about either animal but she had to admit they were great videos!
lots of woofs
Clive
Hi Honey,
You met so many dogs in Waiatarua Reserve!! We wish we had been there with you! But, we also met handreds of dogs on the weekend, although we couldn’t actually play with them. We went to another couple of agility trials.
We hope we can meet up with you again soon!! Cinnamon will show you new tricks she has learned:-)
Hi Honey hey my Daddy had a ball like that too! I did not knows I wuz not sposed to play with it… there mite have been an aksident when my teeths ran into it… But anyways looks like you wuz having fun with yer Daddy!!
Yer pal Dozer
Hi Honey! Huge ball: that’s too bad you can’t play with it (we agree with you: humans are odd)!
That greyhound was so fast! ZOOM ZOOM!
Kisses
Rufus and Indie

Dear Honey!
Those videos are so cute!
Thanks for sharing with us.
You sure had a great time in that park playing with your new friends.
Great job helping your dad with his exercices.
Congrats on your nomination!
xoxo,
Thor
Those were very cute videos!! I would love to be in that room with the ferrets. They have even more energy than I do!
You are a good girl to help your dad with his exercises, though if it was me, I’d be jumping on top of his back and stepping on his neck to make it feel better
Teddy
You helping to pump up the ball was soooo khute!
I enjoyed all the pups woo got to meet at the park!
I saw The Little PeeWee Pups too! They looked as khrazy as Mango’s khrazy bro!
Khongrats on your pawesome nomination!
Hugz&Khysses,
Khyra
Hey! Thanks for commenting. I always look forward to reading yours. I haven’t actually made a command yet for heeling. Normally when we go for walks he’s off-leash, so I guess when he’s on leash he just knows he’s supposed to stay with me. I guess because I failed miserably to ever teach Storm to heel I’ve hesitated to put a word to Jackal’s heel.
I don’t know if you noticed at the beginning of the walk I said “Let’s Go”. That’s his informal walking command. It means ‘hey come with me in this general direction and stay kind of close’. That’s the most I’ve ever done.
The only formal attention heeling work I’ve ever done with him is what you saw in the video. I guess he’s ready to do some more structured work (in a quiet environment of course) I just don’t know if I’m ready. Don’t wanna mess him up because I’m so pleased with how well he’s doing so far. If you have any tips for the more formal heeling let me know. Especially breaking things down into small steps, because that’s the part I always have difficulty with. Maybe you can make a post about how you taught Honey to heel?
Great videos! The ferrets and family were such fun to watch and I love the cat and rat. We used to have both of them at the same time but they never got loose together.
I could hear just how wet that park was as you ran through the mud!
Woof… that’s so pawsome that you helped Paul to pump the Swiss ball!
Thanks for sharing the cute videos, we really enjoyed watching them.
Licks,
Adele, Vincent & Bella
p.s: there’s an award for you in our blog.

MUAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the feature
Maybe you should have Honey do some swiss ball work? I know she’s too big to do some of the stuff I have my dogs do, but she could learn to pivot on the ball…
Congratulations on your nomination too!!!
Now I see the video you mentioned. Looks familiar – our Labs can’t catch Nigel on his best day!
What a great blog Honey!! First of all, we just loved seeing you run with the Greyhound. He/she looks just like our cousin Barney did, it made us smile seeing that doggy run so fast and being so happy.
The ferret video is so funny, who would have thought that they could all get on so well, they seem to constantly tease each other and play! How wonderful!!

Hey, what fab videos. They made me smile.
Honey, do you think you could come over here and help motivate me with my exercises? I could do with an attentive personal trainer like you.
Congratulations on your nomination, I will go on over and vote for you!
Wow, I can’t believe how the cat and the rat love each other so much…too funny and that ferret dance was great.
But best of all was your ball pumping…Great work! That made me and Mom laugh and smile the whole way through! And you looked so princess-like with your pawing movements…getting the job done while still looking beautiful! You are my kind of girl Honey!
Way to get in Paul’s face too and make sure he was working! BOL!
Love,
Nala
