…the girls will play!
My human, Hsin-Yi and I have been alone for the last 2 weeks ‘coz my other human, Paul, went back to the faraway place called England to see his family.
We missed him a lot – and I especially missed my cuddles because Paul always gives me more cuddles than Hsin-Yi – but we’ve been having fun too. In fact, Hsin-Yi said it was a good time to do all those important things which Paul doesn’t know how to appreciate…
…like watching Bridget Jones’s Diary 27 times, especially rewinding the part where Colin Firth / ‘Mark Darcy’ gives that look across the dinner table (oooh!)…
…spending hours in the bathroom soaking every part of the body…
…eating midnight snacks in bed…
…and making sure dinner is a balanced diet!
* In case anyone is wondering about the hidden paparazzi in our house, these were all taken by self-timer!
But Paul has come back – YAY!!!
And he has brought lots of goodies back for us. Look at all these dog books he brought back for Hsin-Yi! They have been on her wishlist for years but it costs so much money paper to send them to NZ (much more than the books themselves!) that she has always put off ordering them online…(these are some of the definitive books for anyone interested in canine behaviour & training – I will do a post about them in more detail another day)
And Paul also got Hsin-Yi a new mobile phone machine!! His Big Flying Machine passed through a place called Changi Airport in Singapore where they sell machine things very cheaply and he saw the perfect phone for Hsin-Yi: it is PINK (her favourite colour) and it has a very good camera machine (with flash!) inside so she can always take pictures wherever she goes! (Sony Ericsson C901 Cyber-shot)
Hsin-Yi is so excited – she has never had a phone with a camera machine in it before (it can also do lots of other fancy things like play music and the screen is in colour!). Look, she immediately took a photo of me (doing my favourite activity) and put it as the front picture!
And I got a cool thing too – it is a sort of late birthday present – look, a Nina Ottosson Interactive Toy: the Dog Brick!
I was a little bit worried, though, when I saw the Skill Level – Medium…me? Um, I’m certainly not the brightest canine in the kennel…hmmm…we’ll see…
But the best thing about Paul coming back is all the extra cuddles again!!

WooHoo!
How pawesome!
So many special pressies!
AND KHUDDLES TOO!
Hugz&Khysses,
Khyra
Oh my goodness! WHat fun you had while he was away so it is good he topped it all when he returned! Awesome pressies! I am very jealous of the dog brick and can not WAIT to see you prove to everyone that you are as smart as 2 dogs which is apparently what it takes to do that puzzle. Cool books too. I have read don’t shoot the dog and culture clash as they were recommended by the behaviorist I volunteered for. They really changed the way I thought about training and bet I could learn more if I read them again now that I actually have a dog
Glad he is home safe!
p.s. you can see my lame attempt at making moose’s brain game harder on our post today! It sort of helped but I may need to cave and buy him a harder doggie puzzle!
Hey Honey! You and Hsin-Yi got pawsome pressies! I loved the pictures of you with Hsin-Yi and Paul! What a wonderful family you are =)
love, Thor
Ha Ha, we loved the feet soaking shot – too funny!!! Great collection of books – The Culture Clash is on our bookshelves too. Look at all the new tricks you are going to learn now, Honey. Dad looks very happy to see you too, bet you enjoyed all the extra cuddling.
Woos, the OP Pack
The long soaks and balanced diet look like a nice reward for missing Paul. It was so nice of him to bring you presents!
It looks like a great time was had while Paul was away and an even better time to catch up on snuggles from him plus new presents. Hooray for all of you!
Oh, your post had me giggling. Looks like you had very fun “girl time”!
What wonderful presents. You now have some of our favorite books:) Glad Paul is home safe and sound.
That was so cute showing all the girlie things you did with Hsin-Yi! But it’s awesome that Paul is home now and brought you so many cool gifts!
Wow! You girls got lots of presents! You better tell you human to make a post about you trying that brick. We don’t want to miss that!!
Looks like it worked out for everybody. Maybe you got the sickies because you missed your Paul so much, but now the family is all back together again! Those are some great books. As for that intellectuals stimulations game, well, you know what I think of those. Humph.
Slobbers,
Mango
P.S. Momma says read my bloggy for today because she needs something called moral support helping me scare the cone monster out of the house.
Oooh! What a great time you both had!
I only had Bridget Jones on video tape, and now I don’t have a video tape player
So I haven’t had the opportunity to watch it 27 times
I am so jealous of all those dog books. You will definitely have to tell us all their names so I can go and buy them!
I bet you’re having super fun with your new toy Honey
and I am glad Paul is back and you are getting your usual cuddle quota again
Hugs,
Darcy’s mumma
Looks like you girls had a good time while waiting for Paul to return. Well balanced diet, lots of exercise (ha!) and crumbs in the bed. Such luxury.
Sounds like you girls had a ball… but its always nice when loved ones return home safely… would love to curl up on our rainy day here and read the books… great post honey
HI Honey Friend! I am glad your human came back and brought you all fun presents. I bet you and your human are going to have fun learning new tricks from her books.
Oh, I love GIRL TIME!!! Except maybe for the feety-feet in the water. Hee hee hee!
Love,
Ammy
I love that shot of you and Hsin-Yi soaking your feet! The balanced diet sure looked good too!
I’m glad that Paul made it home safely and brought you and Hsin-Yi back some goodies. Never heard of the Dog Brick before, looks interesting!
oooo! I know ‘that look!’ Great choice of activities. Well-balanced diet! Mr. Wild Dingo travels a lot too for work, for weeks at a time and we pass time the same way you do too!
Did your feet and toes come out as soft as Hsin-Yi’s? did you do a mani-pedi???
PeeEssWoo: there’s a dancin’ photog on Wild Dingo today that I think you may appreciate. We’re no “Honey” on the dance floor, but we try…
Oh wow – can i come to your place when Paul’s gone? I love spa bathies and foodables like yours mmmmmmnnnn!!!! Looked like a good time. My momma is the green-eyed monster now, taking looks at your camera-phone – whoo-hoo!!! That is some fancy machine! But Honey, you must be so happy your Dad’s back – a long time to be away!
Loves ya!
Hugs xo
Sammie
Aww great post! Love the picture of you two soaking your feet! Does Honey soak her feet often? So funny!
Jason’s going to go on a trip for work next week and I’m excited to watch the chick flicks he doesnt like to watch!
Great presents from Paul! I have the book, Before and After Getting Your Puppy, I started reading through it at the beginning, and maybe I should bring it out again as Darwin is going through her crazy phase. I’d love to hear about those other books!
Ohhh – I tell you – my human just got ideas!!! My male human is on business trips farfaraway all the time
not as far as yours though. I think England is beyond Asia but I’m not too sure… My mom loved the picture in the bathroom – I’m kinda worried now. After all I’m a man well, boy! Guess I’ll have to wait and see… I already had to sit through an rainy Sunday afternoon of Sex and the City back to back episodes! Who knows what comes next.
Slobbers Teal’c
Everything except the foot soak looks good to me.
Glad you and Hsin-Yi had a fun time while Paul was gone but I know you are happy to have him back now. How fabulous that he brought all those fantastic presents!
Kisses,
Nala
The books you go look great
My pearon has “Think Dog” a has heard nothing but good things about “Don’t Shoot the Dog”!
See you soon,
Lexi
Hey there Honey
Looks like you had a lot of fun in Paul’s absence. Those pressies look fabulous and you deserve to be spoilt!
Lots of licks
MAXDOG IN SOUTH AFRICA
woah! looks like you and Hsin-Yi scored with all the loot from England! Did your Paul have any room in his suitcases to bring back his clothes or was there only room for your stuff?
can’t wait to hear the reviews on the doggie books! Im gonna ask Mom to buy me one of those puzzles as well.
wags, wiggles & welcome-back Paul slobbers
Murphydog
Toys and machines are fun, but cuddles are the best.
That was a GREAT post!! Loved the feet spa
Looks like you had some great “girl time” together.
Behr Behr got the brick puzzle for her first birthday and loves it. I posted a video of her with it soon afterward. http://behrrake.wordpress.com/2009/01/28/im-so-puzzled/
I ended up with the wooden version which can irritate her chin with the narrow edges, plus it’s not as “slobber proof”. When I got the tornado puzzle, I got the plastic. Much better to clean!!!
We have Don’t shoot the dog and the dog trick book. Both are excellent. Hope to hear your reviews on the others.
Behr Behr’s mom, Holly
Looks like you girls sure had a lot of fun while Paul was away. Wow, what a lot of nice things Paul brought home for both of you.
Hi Honey
My human has “Don’t Shoot The Dog”, which is a philosophy I heartily approve of. She’s waiting for our paper money to be worth more than the overseas paper money, then she’s going to buy “Culture Clash”.
You look like you had lots of fun, but I’m not sure I would have wanted to do that soaking thing, it looks too much like a bath. My human likes to soak her whole body all at once, and sometimes I bark at her for being crazy, and other times I drink the bath water and eat the bubbles.
Puppy kisses
Sasha
Hi girls!
just love the sencond picture! too funny
wooow so many books
let us know if there is anything interesting that we should know ok?
licks pu
oh Honey! you missed Paul! you got some great prezzies, and on one of the books it looks like you made the cover! hehehe
girls home alone, great
) Love the bath – picture
)
Good Paul finally came back to you both!
Looks like you girls had a great time while Paul was away! Those are great books that he brought back-they are some of Barbara’s favorites. Hsin-Yi will enjoy them, I’m sure. Glad you are enjoying cuddle time with Paul now.
Your friend,
Niamh
Honey, All that girl time sounds like it was a good time, but glad you can get your cuddles from Paul now! Let us know how that Nina Ottoson toy is, we’ve heard great things about it!!
~Princess
He he… I like the bathroom picture the best!
Also, I have the 101 Tricks Book and have learned most of my tricks from it. There are lotsa tricks in there that Momma won’t let me do because I’m big and I’m not suppose to jump. So it’s really like a 52 Trick Book for me, LOL….. And, I’m not gonna carry Momma’s purse, I’m a boy… so 51 tricks.
I’m glad you had some good “girl time” with your mom! That Brick toy looks like loads of fun.
Oh love all the pics, sooo cute, lots of girl time!
Awesome new phone and look at all those great books!!
Hiya again Honey! I have an award for you!
Hugs xo
Sammie
Oh Honey… the pics were great, I love the feet soaking the best! Your mom has a great choice in favorite movies (I see Dirty Dancing on the table!). I have to admit that while I virtually have grown to love Miss Honey, I am continually inspired by the loving relationship your parents share. I am 44 and have been single for 17 years and keep waiting for the day I can find someone who will love me in that way. Until then…I’ll live vicariously through you!
Looks like you have the best of both worlds… fun times while Paul was away and cool pressies and cuddles upon his return. You’re a lucky girl Honey.
* Ya better watch out though….all the books are going to get your girl thinking about must intellectual stuff you have to do!
You must be thrilled to have him home – and that new phone looks like it will get a lot of use.
I want to try your balanced diet!
Oh, Honey! This is one of your best posts ever! So cute, and creative and… cute!
You are a one very lucky girl, ’cause you have special humans! The best breed of hoomans… the ones who REALLY love you!
Love,
Pipa
It looks like you both had an excellent time while he was away! Mom and I like alot of those same things.
Also, alot of those books are on Mom’s Christmas list (since she wants to be a behaviorist when she is healthy) and she is jealous you have them now!
oh! We were at the bookstore today and we saw the book you are in! Mom showed it to my grandmom and said that I knew the famous Great Dane in the picture! It was very cool.
Hugs and Tail Wags,
Dixie
Hi Honey,
Wow, you and Hsin-Yi got so many nice presents! Our mum must be jealous of you, as those doggy books are hard to get here. She also wants a new mobile phone like the one Paul bought for Hsin-Yi, as the one she has now doesn’t support roaming in Japan.
But, you both must be happy that Paul is back more than anything!
Wow Honey! It looks like you and your human had an awesome time!! Those books look very interesting, but I like books with lots of pictures and tasty paper.
How lucky you are to get a present game thingy! It looks like so much fun! Let me know how you get on with it!

Hi, Honey!
Sure your and Hsin-Yi had a pawesome time doing all girly things together! The balanced diet sure was special!
But I know you are very happy now that Paul is back at home!
And he brought two you nice presents!
Enjoy them!

Love the photos! That one with feet/paws soaking is just brillant!
Cool pressies! Will be interested to know how that doggie interactive game works out.
Have a good weekend

Hi Honey – hmmm, we’re a bit concerned…. Female human was reading your post and started muttering about being in a house of males, so we thought we’d read what you wrote. Eeek – we’re a bit concerned about possibly having to soak our paws and watch – um – chick-flicks….. Mind you, we think we could manage the balanced diet bit very well, he he he!
This was such a fun post – female human was a tiny bit envious as she hasn’t had any ‘girlie’ fun for a while – she’s decided to arrange a girle day with some of her pals after reading this, so she’s happy you did this post! So, we’ll have to go and do something manly and butch with male human whilst she’s soaking her feet with her friends – he he he!
We’re glad Paul’s back – that last picture was wonderful. Just shows how much you both missed each other. Awww – it made us feel all smiley just looking at it – in the most manly of ways of course, he he he! Schnauzer snuggles – JD and Max.
Looks like you two made the most of your girl time when Paul was away. I love the feet treats and also the yummy food and drink. Even better, were the presents Paul brought back for you both. They were so thoughtful and fitting, and shows he was thinking of his two best girls when he was away.
It’s so nice to see you and Hsin-Yi having some girl time all to yourselves. I love having days with Marge where we stay in and have fun all alone.
..But it was sooo super nice of Paul to bring back all of those great books!
Honey, tell Hsin-Yi a company in the US called Clean run is having a free world-wide shipping offer. I’ve ordered two Nina Ottosson games, one in wood (heavy!) and one plastic, I think.
I ordered them from the list of things with free shipping, but I’ve emailed them to make sure the shipping IS REALLY free, because otherwise it would cost fortune!
They had the same offer this time last year, so I think I’ve got it right.
