My human is crazily busy with preparing for our big move to Australia – so please forgive me if I can’t visit your blogs much in the next few weeks!
I had a very exciting experience last weekend: I went to my very 1st dinner party! My lovely friends, Cookie & Cinnamon, invited me and my humans to dinner at their home and it was great to have one last playdate with them before I leave NZ.
Although they are both Beagles, Cookie & Cinnamon are so different in personality. Cookie is like me – very calm and laid-back and quiet – while Cinnamon is full of energy and always whizzing around excitedly!
So Cookie took it easy…
…while Cinnamon showed me around her garden…
And we had a good play together!
We especially enjoyed chasing each other around the garden table!
But oh! What was that? I think dinner is ready!! Quick, Cinnamon – FOOD!!
Unfortunately, the humans said we doggies couldn’t join them at the dining table – in fact, Hsin-Yi even made me do the “Bed” command on some lovely soft cushions that Cinnamon’s human put down, for the whole time they were eating…humph! So unfair!
And everything smelled so delicious too! Cookie & Cinnamon’s humans had prepared a special kind of Japanese food called tempura and my humans were just stuffing their faces like pigs…without even saving a bit for me! Humph!
Still, they did let me get up when they had finished and we doggies were finally allowed to come and join in…
.
It was such a lovely evening and I had a wonderful time!
My humans and I are so sad that we have only got to know Cookie & Cinnamon and their humans so late and now we’re leaving NZ so we won’t get to spend more happy times with them. But I guess we will just have to catch up with each other’s adventures through our blogs and hope that we might get a chance to meet again when they go to Australia for a visit or we come back to NZ!

Oh, how can you bear to leave?!
I’m catching up with everyone’s blogs and there was lots to catch up on yours! Looks like you’re cramming lots in before you leave.
I’ll miss seeing your NZ posts but look forward to the Oz ones.
What a lovely party! I hope you got to try a little bit of tempura. That’s one of my favorites! Especially shrimp tempura! Yum!
I loved the photos of you playing in the garden. You two look so cute together.
How cool that you got invited to a dinner party! Seeing you and Cinnamon running around and playing in the yard was so fun! Sorry you have to move away from your friends but you will make lots of new friends I’m sure!
That looks like a lot of fun! Good luck with your move!

Looks like you had a fun dinner except when she put you on the cushions for dinner. That was not fair. I bet you could have generated lots of slobber if they had let you stare longingly at the food. It would have been most impressive.

What? Your humans had tempura and did not give you any??? Actually, mine does the same all the time too. Sigh…What’s with the humans?
Hi Honey, Cinnamon & Cookie,
It looks like you guys had a great dinner party. I’ve never had Tempura but my mom loves tempura and homemade tempura…how great is that. Cookie and Cinnamon’s mom must be a great cook. My mom only gets it when we go out to the restaurants.
It is sad that you guys are becoming great friends and now will be moving to Australia but you’ll be able to keep in touch via your blogs.
The last picture is so funny! The beagle is not as big as you, even when she sits on a table. Glad you had fun, Honey.

Hi Honey, Hsin-Yi, and Paul,
Thank you for coming to our house for dinner when you guys were so busy!! We had a great time with you all. But, when you were here, our house looked so small!!
It is really sad that you are leaving for Australia soon, although we don’t know where and how far that place is. A good thing, however, is that we can meet up anytime in the cyberspace, thanks to modern technologies!
Keep in touch and good luck!!
Cookie and Cinnamon
Looks like you had a great time with your little beagle friends. Too bad the people didn’t let you eat some of that tempura. I bet it was great. It is hard to leave your nice friends Honey.
Your friend,
Niamh
Looks like a lot of fun Honey! You’re lucky you got to go with your humans to a friends house!
I love tempura! Cookie and Cinnamon’s humans must make some yummy food. Now I want tempura!
How khool was that!?!
Tank woo fur sharing that pawesome time with us!

Looks like you had a lovely time

Chasing doggies round in circles is a good game!
Cookie and Cinnamon are to miss beign able to hang out with you! Its always hard to leave friends when you have to move
But you can keep in contact and I’m sure you’ll make plenty of new ones!
Licks,
Lexi
Humph is right. How dare humans put food in the same room and then tell us it’s not for us? A dinner party should be for all. We got some poached salmon tonight!! We caught Momma looking at something called Mantles tonight and Momma and Daddy discussing brother or sister. Don’t know what that means. Momma is kind of lumpy but we don’t think she’s having kittens. Momma also says she has a NZ connection.

Hi Honey, sounds like you had a wonderful time there! Cookie and Cinnamon are so adorable.
My dad has two beagles and they’re also very opposites in personality. Angel is much like Cookie and their puppy Scamp is like Cinnamon.
Looks like you had a lot of fun running around and playing with your friends. I’m sorry your humans didn’t share dinner with you, how mean! But who am I to talk? I don’t usually share my food with my chihuahuas either.
I love that last picture. That beagle looks so little next to you, even though he/she is on a table.
It must be sad knowing you’re moving so far away from your friends. At least you can always keep in touch via cyberspace. And Honey, I’m sure you’ll make LOTS of new friends in Australia!
wow, great times, great pics! Lovely! Thanks for sharing!
Parties are fun! Did you get any food? The leftovers are the best part!

Honey, that was so nice of Cookie and Cinnamon’s humans to have you all over for dinner. We know you will all miss them, but at least you got to have fun with them too. That dinner looked very tasty.

Hi Honey,
Aw, it’s a shame you won’t be able to see them first paw any more, but good memories are what is life is all about. Hey, we know you’re super busy but we just wanted to say that voting has started on our ‘bootie-licious’ competition, we’re sure you’ll do really well!

Honey! You did zoomies! You must have been so worn out.
Momma is totally jealous that you know bed. Ha! I know “I am not getting out of bed just because it is pee pee time” but that is about it.
Slobbers,
Mango
Woo! That looks like a wonderful dinner party, Honey! My mom was raised with Beagles and loved seeing Cookie and Cinnamon! She loves all the pix, but especially the second shot of you and Cinnamon zooming around the outside table!
Great post!
Luv,
Dave
That looks like a lot of fun! It’s too bad you have to leave after making new friends but I’m sure you will get to see each other again some day.
Last time my Mum had a dinner party and Hsin-Yi came I went to stay at my Auntys in the next street and Mrs Magoo got to stay at home cos Mum thought that two of us Border Terriers and 18 people and all that food would just be too much for the guests. How come I was the one that had to go “outta town” that night….. puzzled. Cookie & Cinnamon both got to stay home, how does that happen???!!!
Bodie
You look so lovely together! Your humans had fun too!
I think I can smell the delicious food here! Yummi!!!

NZ is such a beautiful place from the pictures that we have seen here so far. It’s a pity that you are leaving but then, Australia may just be as great a place to stay too.
It’s sad to leave friends but then, you’ll make new ones. We just can’t wait to see your new adventures in Australia!
Great dinner party you have there. There are more to come, I guess, since this is the first. Looking forward to see your next dinner party…

What a lovely dinner party! It looks like everyone had fun, especially you!
Big Honey Dawg,
If you were invited to eat at that table, you wouldn’t even need a chair!
Yer pal,
Luda
What a lovely dinner party (except for the bit about not being able to eat the tempura. Humans!) I love the photos … looks like you all had an awesome time.
Oh, sweet sweet Honey, I’m so sorry I’ve been late catching all your news! And they are so many!
First of all, even though late, HAPPY BARKDAY! You are getting more and more pretty with age, let me tell you that!
You had so much fun with your friends cookie and cinnamon, didn’t you??? I wish I could play with you!
So, when are you going to leave NZ?
Love
