(A little bit late!) Wishing you all a wonderful time over the holiday season and all the best for the new year!
* Because I am saying goodbye to New Zealand this year, I thought I would make my Christmas card this year with a photo showing the famous and beautiful pohutukawa – the ‘NZ Christmas Rose’ – which blooms every year in Nov/Dec, in the Southern Hemisphere summer, and covers the NZ coastline with brilliant colour!
We did not do anything special for Christmas – my humans are very tired from rushing around, doing the Settling-In thing (and they’re still not finished!) and so they were not really in the mood to do much. They said it was very nice just to laze around on Christmas Day and eat cold salads and not have to worry about cooking anything special or entertaining other humans or doing anything! (well, other than taking me for my daily walk, of course!
)
But we did go into downtown Brisbane to see the beautiful, big Christmas tree in King George Square:

We tried to get a family photo using the self-timer but I looked away at the last minute! And it was so hot and I was panting so much that Hsin-Yi was worried about me and so didn’t want to hang around to try again…anyway, even though it’s not very good, here is the photo!

Hi Honey! You still look soooo happy to be with your humans again!
My mom said she wished she could have done “nothing” on Christmas too…so much running around it isn’t enjoyable.
But we’re happy to see your smiling face!
Yer pals,
Sketcher and Angel
Hi Honey! So happy to see you are back with your humans and that the moving and everything has gone well!! I wish you a merry christmas and a happy new and exciting year!! here in Denmark we have 0 C degrees, and snowy weather!!
Bundy
Merry Christmas, Big Honey Dog! Christmas there looks even warmer than Christmas here!
Merry Christmas Honey! I like your profile!
Looks like Brisbane is a big city. I’m sure you will find lots to do there. I love the Christmas tree.
Hi Honey! Glad you´re back! You look so happy with your hoomans!
Merry Christmas and I wish you a wonderful 2010! Great pictures!
Merry Christmas. Doing nothing is a wonderful way to spend a holiday! We moved the day after Christmas last year so Momma spent Christmas in a packing frenzy followed by a settling in frenzy through new years! Nice foto even if you are looking away. I think it tells us that your new city is just too interesting for you to stare at a camera 20 seconds!
It is nice that you are all together and not in separate hotels and continents!

Late is okay. You have a good excuse.
Happy New Year!
Hi Honey -- we’re glad your humans had a relaxing Christmas, they deserved it after the past few weeks of madness!! We love the photos of you all -- we’re so happy you’re all together again. Schnauzer snuggles -- JD and Max.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Honey!
I can definitely understand why your humans choose just to have Christmas be a relaxing day. Just mocing across town can be stressful enough but to move to a whole new country is even more overwhelming!
I’m just glad you all got to spend the day together. And it sounds like you had a very merry Christmas!
Hi Honey,
It looks really hot there!! The Christmas tree behind you in the photo is so big!! Wow, there are reindeers too. But, where is Santa?
Happy New Year!!
Love,
Cinnamon
Honey, what a lovely way to say goodbye to NZ. Your ‘NZ Christmas Rose’ Card is really beautiful.
And I think your Christmas was perfect for you and your humans: just enjoying yourselves together!
Love, Kimba.
P.S. I wonder how hot it has been there. Ufff.
Great photos Honey!
Happy New Year to you too!
Clive and family

I am so glad everything turned out Honey and that you are with your beautiful mum and dad. It just so happens that my nieces are up here in Oregon visiting from Perth Australia! They are on winter break but it is really hot where they are from even tho it is Christmas. They are praying we get snow!
The Christmas Rose is beautiful, and your pictures with your humans are wonderful. I have never moved, and so don’t understand quite how hard it is on your humans. I am glad you are taking good care of them.
Drools,
Thor
The pohutukawa sure is beautiful, Honey. I can’t image Christmas with flowers blooming and hot weather. Here everything is white. The only thing that’s red are people’s cheeks!
I’m happy you’re almost settled into your new house. I bet you ust love it there.
We wish you a happy and healthy 2010, Honey, Hsin-Yi and Honeydaddy.
By the way, come by my blog again when you have a chance and see the new trick I taught my parents!
Love and Hugs.

Merry Christmas Honey. I’m glad that you are getting settled in Australia. It looks like a nice place but way too hot. Stay cool.
Your friend,
Niamh
Hi Honey
Happy Australian Christmas! Yes, you are right, my human and I decided I should have a “nudie” cut for summer -- partially because the grass in the park was really tall and seedy, and I would collect so many seeds in my soft fur, and also because I don’t like the heat much.
When it gets really hot in Melbourne, my human gives me ice cubes to lick -- they help me cool down, and they are also fun to play with! I also have a cooling mat which is filled with water crystals -- my human soaks it for me, and then hangs it overnight to get all the drippy stuff off, and then it stays damp and cool for me to lie on.
I hope it doesn’t get as hot in Melbourne as it did last summer, when I was a little puppy -- that was pretty yucky (it was over 40 degrees for lots of days in a row, and very hot at night). My human arranged to work from home a lot, so she could keep an eye on me. Melbourne’s usually ok, it just goes nuts sometimes in summer.
This summer, she’s going to put me into doggy daycare if we get lots of hot days in a row -- it’s not air conditioned there, but they put out paddling pools for us to play in, and there are people who can keep an eye on me to make sure I’m ok.
My human says she’s sure you and your humans will acclimatise ok -- just don’t try to do too much in the heat, and have lots of cold drinks and baths!
Puppy kisses
Sasha
Merry belated Christmas to you and your family, Honey!
Woooooo!
Luv,
Dave
Your card is beautiful Honey!
I am sure you had a pawesome Christmas time!

Happy New Year!
You are settling right in to your new home. I bet you love that air conditioning, huh.

Hi Honey!
Mom loves your Christmas card with all the pretty flowers on it. She is so jealous of you and your humans living in such a nice warm place….it’s so cold and miserable here that I have to wear my pink coat when I go outside and my little (oh I mean big) paws freeze fast so I can’t go on long walks until it warms up.
I’m glad you are settling into your new house and country.

Hi, Honey-
Being reunited with yer humans must have been the best Christmas present ever!
Yer pal,
Luda
P.S. It’s freezing where I live. Rite now it is ten degrees. Mummy sez that is in farenheit. I jest know it is cold.
Merry Christmas! I like the photo even though you’re looking away. I’m glad you’re settling in and that your humans got a nice break on Christmas. Did they at least get you a bone? We didn’t do anything special either because my dad had to work, so mom watched sad movies all day.

We see a woofie pool in your future……one in your very own yard! We are so glad you all made it safely to Australia. We love the pictures of you in your crate…just as calm as can be. And your new bed is extra wonderful! We want one that big!
It is funny for us to see Hsin-Yi in that dress for Christmas because we are used to it being frozen and snowy during Christmas. We are glad you took it easy on Christmas day and just relaxed. We hope you have a great New Year!
You look good anyway, Honey! We forgot that is Summer in Australia! Here is so cold!
Have a great New Year’s Eve! Have fun!
Kisses

Hey Honey! Just saw your comment on our blog. Nope, our Meowm does not try to dress us up for the holidays…we think we are lucky! She has been thinking she needs to get more video of us though.
Oh Honey now you’re such a seasoned traveller will you remember us! We miss you so much. So glad that your humans found a place to stay so soon. They must have good ‘doggie’ landlords in Australia.
Since you left I have been on the go up till yesterday when my humans rellies left town. Phew!! What a time, so much comings and goings that I had to investigate and bark my approval or dissaproval off. In fact, I got a little hoarse on Xmas Day because there we 26 humans in my house, all of whom needed greeting and reminding that they were making a lot of noise and laughing loudly!
Happy New Year to you Honey and to your super humans Hsin-Yi and Paul. Loads of sniffs and love.

Happy New Years! Glad you guys are doing great!

Right back atcha Honey and family. Happy 2010!
It sound like a lovely, laid back Christmas. I can’t imagine a Christmas without it being cold like it always is here in Michigan at Christmas time.
