Pawdance Film Festival…

My new blog friend, Norwood, came up with the coolest idea – he is hosting the 1st Pawdance Film Festival and has invited movie entries from everybody in the following categories: Romantic, Action, Comedy, Mystery & Suspense, That’s Entertainment and Special Effects.

The movies had to be 2mins max and have a doggie as the star, although humans can be extras.

Deadline was last Sunday and voting has begun! Please do visit the Pawdance Film Festival site (and vote for me!) :P Well, OK, vote for your favourite movie…The polls will be open from May 10th- May 13th for the best movie in each category, and then voting for “Flick of the Year” opens on Friday May 14th and closes midnight PST on May 15th.  On May 16th, the winners will be announced. (Click here to go straight to the voting polls.)

Here are my entries:

Comedy: The Massage

.

.

.

‘That’s Entertainment’: Murder on the Dance Floor

.

Hsin-Yi says: When you start doing ’proper dog sports’ as opposed to just pet training, things can get a bit serious. We tend to always only upload our “best” routines and focus on our dogs doing everything perfectly – and then people, especially newbies, think that we always have things running smoothly. Well, that certainly isn’t the case for me!!! So here’s a bit of fun, just to show that it doesn’t always go right – and it doesn’t always matter! :D
(Although I have to say, with the number of bruises I get from Honey, if anyone ever saw me undressed – they would probably think I’m a battered wife!)

.

By the way, I know many of you have been busy and might not have visited me for a while…if you missed my last post about my ‘doggie dancing’ camp with Richard Curtis, please do take a look when you have time! It’s got lots of great photos of all sorts of doggies having a fun time and some funny videos. I spent a looooooong time writing that post and am a bit sad that lots of friends don’t seem to have looked at it! :(

We have already seen your two entries -- and they are so good -- we think Honey needs a little puppy to keep her company. She was so good with that little pug.

Lots of luck in the festival.

Woos -- Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara

  3. Dory says:

What pawesome videos!!! Good Luck Honey!

    Smileys!

  4. Dana says:

I love both entries and will get over there to vote soon! I had not seen the massage video before but it was hilarious! It is interesting to know where the bump on your head came from… I wonder if a pug chewed on Moose's head too. Your bloopers are definitely entertaining. In some of them it looks like you are trying to get a piggy back ride from Hsin-yi but I don't think she is big enough for that! We are still catching up from being away so we will be back to read your last post!

  5. Great entries. We love the film festival and have enjoyed seeing all of the films.

  6. Sammie says:

    Dear Honey,
I've seen your videos and they are absotutely mahvelous! Just love them all, but the Canine Freestyle one is hysterical! You are sooooo one of a kind! Big Kissies to you from me!
    Hugs xoxoxoxo

  7. Jenny and Kadie says:

Awww Honey! I loved your last entry! We have been a little sick at our house with colds! But we did read it and loved seeing all the other doggies you met at your camp! That would be so much fun! I am glad to see that the video of things not going "smoothly"! I can really relate to those videos!! haha! Thanks for the fun post!

    Lots of drool!
    Kadie and Jenny

  8. Sapphire says:

Since the time you knocked your hand on the door, i can't stop laughing.

  9. Amber says:

Oh Honey….my Mom and I were laughing so hard through both of your videos! The first one made my Dad even come see what was going on as we were laughing so much. Very cool that Hsin-Yi even shows the blog world that not all of your routines are pawfect even though I think everything you do is pawfect. ;) I bet Hsin-Yi does have some nice bruises….my fave is when you jump up on her back so playfully and silly. I am going to go vote ASAP. Also, I am off to read your post below as I haven't caught it yet…I'm a bit slow on the blogs these days as Mom is spending more time outdoors in her garden and doing more things with me in our nice weather.

    Kisses,
    Nala

  10. Cinnamon says:

I enjoyed watching both of your films! Good luck with the competition!!

  11. It took us over an hour but we got to see both videos! I think your dancing entry might be slightly better but we loved the comedic one as well. Thanks -- they were a great laugh on a day when I could really use one.

  12. Khyra says:

    Best of lukhk in Pawedance!

As fur your other post, it surely looked like lots of us stopped by and chekhed out the post --

I know that some with less than high speed khonnekhtions might have problems getting all of it to load AND still get to other blogs --

I'm still drooling ovFUR that hot Malamute!

    Hugz&Khysses,
    Khyra

  13. Lorenza says:

I saw the post you mentioned and even commented on it. It looked like you and Honey had a lot of fun!

I love that contest idea! Now if only I had a video camera. Boo!

  15. Lucille & Nicole says:

Ciao Hsin-Yi -- this time is the human replying… You have no idea how much I understand you… you are in good company about the bruises! I mean, not that our dogs are bad or aggressive, but the way they express their joy or boredome is in line with their weight! Have you seen the film "the replacement" with keanu reeves? It is a silly one, but when the irish thin guy scores he has to deal with the huge team mate happiness! Looks like us… eh eh eh…

  16. Hi Honey

We loved your entries, but we can't vote for you, we'll be voting for ourselves!!! OOPS is that allowed??

    Bad Bodie

  17. Cheryl says:

Honey you are such a nice, patient girl, I loved you with that pug! He has such a nice French accent! I voted for you my very favorite Dane!

  18. Mango says:

Having to choose just one movie was in each category was so hard. I really liked the one of you mugging your Hsin-Yi. It is also quite educational for humans who forget what big powerful doggies we are. Like last night I almost made master cry just by putting my big old paw on him the wrong way. I was just trying to get his attention.

Momma had a "painful" meeting at 4PM yesterday with lots of uber geeks all crying and complaining so at the end of the meeting she showed your massage movie on the big screen projector and they immediately brightened up. Ha!

    Slobbers,
    Mango

  19. Thies says:

    Hi Honey,

I watched all the comedy movies on the Pawdance Filmfestival site, and I honestly think your one is the only one that's really funny. And the current voting results are speaking a clear language, too :-)

And of course I enjoyed your last post about the doggie dancing camp and watched every movie clip in it!

    Cuddles,
    Thies

  20. janice says:

  22. Hee hee hee! I was giggling over that first video -- but then, oh my! That second one was even funnier! Now I think I know why one of our vets says Dave reminds her of her Great Dane. Hee hee hee!!! Your "out=takes" are the BEST!!! …and they're like Davy is ALL the time. :)
    Love,
    Ammy

  23. Honey, your videos had me "LOLing" at work! So funny! You and the pug are too cute together, I love how he was chewing on your face! And the dancing out-takes! So funny. I have to say when Hsin-Yi spun into the door that was hilarious! (sorry, I hope she didn't hurt herself, but it was funny) I love seeing you goofy and jumping around and jumping on Hsin-Yi where I'm assuming you were supposed to walk under her. Those were great.
I hear you on the bruises. My thighs are covered in bruises from just Darwin's tail whipping me!

  24. We will definitely vote for you Honey! Your murder on the dance floor was hysterical.

  25. We really love your videos, Honey!!! Both give us a big smile on our face and also some good laugh. Good luck!!!

p.s: Definitely we'll vote for you *wiggles*

  26. Wild Dingo says:

Murder on the Dance floor is the BEST! it totally rocks. it made me laugh and laugh! Love that Honey and love you being "human!" It's about time you and Honey don't look so darn perfect! ;)

  27. MrsDesperate says:

Oh so cute! I loved it -- especially where the pug massages the tension in your poor head. You were very patient with him!

  28. Ludo says:

    Hehehehehe!
I loved your murder on the dancefloor video! I will go vote now and I has finally beed able to look at your Richard Curtis post!!

  29. Sandra says:

Check out the Pawdance Film Festival -- it's fun--and vote for Honey's two entries under comedy and That's Entertainment. She's in the lead in both categories so far, so let's keep it going !! Love you Honey!!

  30. Preston says:

we loved "the massage" video. Mommy was watching it over and over and wished it was longer than 2 min.

  31. Marjie says:

You are a wonderful dancer, Honey, there's no doubt about that. I love watching the videos!

    Drools,
    Thor

  32. parlance says:

I loved them both, but I especially liked the Frenchified pug one.

I see all the comments here say you were so patient, Honey, but I have a little suspicion you actually enjoyed the face massage.

I've bookmarked the precious post about the Richard Curtis weekend so I can take it in little bites, because it is so interesting and informative.

  33. Monica says:

I would dance with you anytime dahhrling!! and I would come and chase that rude little filled with ulterior motives chubby so called masseur away from you gorgeous one. And then I Bundy the Bundle of Joy would show you MY moves :o )) BTW my mom laughed so hard at the masseur video, she got all teared up!!

  34. Katy and Kim says:

Honey, your videos were just wonderful! So enjoyable to watch…you blew away the competition!

  35. Sara & Pu says:

  36. Awwwww sorry it took me so long to comment on your dancing camp post, but I did just a second ago. I'm trying to catch up on all of your posts because I've been so busy and I hate feeling like I'm missing something. :) I even missed voting for you in this contest!!!! :(

I think the movies are great! I didn't stop laughing during the whole dancing movie. I loved it!! I bruise so easily that I think I'll have to pass on dancing with you Honey. Please don't be offended. :D

The massage one was great too. The dialog was soooo funny. :) I can't wait to see what the results were. I hope you posted them because I still have six posts to read.
