Hello Newcastle!

Well, we’re finally here in Newcastle, New South Wales!

My humans found a lovely dog-friendly B&B that we could stay in while they are looking for a new home for me, here in Newcastle. They were lucky to find it as it is the only place downtown that us doggies can stay with our humans.

It is called the Hamilton Heritage B&B and it is owned by 2 lovely humans called Laraine and Colin who really welcome doggies like their own family! We can sleep in the rooms with our humans and go anywhere we like. There is even a pretty little garden at the back where we can sign the Doggie Peemail Guestbook! ;)

And here is the room I was to share with my humans:

I had a great time exploring when we arrived. It is a gorgeous big house with beautiful rooms with soaring ceilings, lovely old wooden furniture and amazing windows made of rainbow glass (which Laraine made herself!)…

(...and Colin built this whole kitchen by himself too - isn't it amazing?)

.

…and I loved sniffing all the interesting nooks and crannies in the garden…

Hmmm...there's a doggie who looks an awful lot like me living on the other side of the garden...

But the BEST part is that there is Kitty TV here too! :P

Wow – this Kitty TV is even in High Definition!

Hmm, you know, I don’t think we need to find anywhere else to live – I think I’ll tell my humans we should just stay here forever at the Hamilton Heritage B&B, where I can watch such great Kitty TV all the time! ;)

Actually, Laraine and Coline were really nice and after we arrived, they said that the room my humans booked might be a bit too squashy for us – especially with my huge bed! – so they said we could move into a bigger room, with more space for me!

Mmm, I like this new room!

Speaking of my bed, you might have noticed that the one we’ve been travelling with on our road trip isn’t my huge BeanBag bed. Yup – this is my new bed from Pet Dreams Ltd!

Remember I told you about my friend, Ivan the blue Dane who lives in the faraway place called England and how his human couldn’t find a nice, big-enough bed for him – so she started her own doggie bed shop!

She makes all sorts of wonderful beds – and especially makes them in XXL size big enough for us giant doggies.

Well, you know how fussy I am about beds – I have always refused to sleep in anything except my beanbag bed but Ivan’s beds looked so lovely that my humans said we just had to get one! :P

So I chose the Sherborne bed which is like a giant doughnut and looked so big & comfy…

…and Ivan’s humans were really nice and specially sent it with express courier so that it would arrive just in time before we left Brisbane.

Because see, my humans were really worried about how we were going to travel with my huge beanbag bed which is so puffy and takes up ALL the space in the car machine – there would be no space for our other stuff!

But my new Sherborne bed is great – although it is still very comfy, it is flatter and can fit in the car better.

The bed has a washable cover -which is really important for slobbery doggies like me! ;) – but Hsin-Yi put an old single fitted sheet on it while we’re travelling ‘coz we’d be dragging it around a lot and she didn’t want it to get very dirty and yucky, before we even moved into our new home! :)

Well, so now I’m just being a good girl waiting in the B&B room all day while my humans go out looking at houses to try and find our new home in Newcastle!

It’s a bit weird living in one room all the time and I’ve had to learn to eat my breakfasts and dinners in the bathroom…

…and walk through the whole house, to the street in front or the garden out back, every time I want to do my wees and poos -

- and of course, sharing it with all the other guests and their families and doggies too…

…but I’m an adaptable doggie and I’m learning quickly! :D

What a grand adventure you’re on! What a cozy place to stay. It sounds like the people there are pawsome. I wonder how to get my kitties in the TV??

    Nubbin wiggles,
    Oskar

  3. Thor says:

Welcome to Newcastle, Honey! Glad you have a nice place to stay for now.

  4. Wow Honey! That B&B looks really great. The bed looks pawsome and Hsin-Yi can even take naps with you. Our human doesn’t have room on our bed for naps and she won’t let us on hers. She says Drake has eye slime and she doesn’t want it in her bed!

We hope Newcastle is great and has lots of doggie things for you!

  5. Lorenza says:

    Hi, Honey!
    That place is pawesome!
Sure is great to know you are so welcome there!
I am sure your humans will find the perfect place for you all!
    Kisses and hugs

As we were reading along, we couldn’t help but think that this would make such a pretty house for you to live in, and then you had the same thought. What a pretty place -- so many lovely touches. We also love your bed. We aren’t thrilled with our new ones, but they will do for now. We hope the house hunt is going well and soon you will all be settled in nicely.

  7. We’re glad you found a nice place to stay Honey. Your hosts sound really nice. The kitty tv looks very interesting!

  8. Sparta the Great Dane says:

We’re pleased you are staying somewhere so nice Honey but we hope you find your own home soon. The reception on the Kitty T.V. looks very clear.

  9. Lucille says:

    Oh Honey,
this is really a nice temporary accomodation!
I am always so amazed to see how patiently you watch Kitty TV!
I never tried but I do not think I would be that nice…
Hope your humans find a new home for you soon, may be you can get Kitty TV there also!
May be your own Kitty TV!
    Ciao Lucille

  10. What a lovely temp home- with yr very own kitty tv and all! Good luck with finding a new home. Tell Hsin Yi that kitty tv is a must :-)

  11. sara, misty & oreo says:

Oh, I love the sign hanging in the bed & breakfast! I think I need to get one!

The B&B looks so wonderful. How nice that they allow pets. I hope your humans are able to find a new home. I’m sure they are anxious to get settled and unpacked.

  12. Gus Dagger says:

Honey, that looks like a wonderful place to stay. Me n Teka are always lookin’ for Hotels and B&Bs that will allow doggies to stay! And this one looks like a winner. Too bad it is so far from Virginia!

But we know what ya mean about having to go through the lobby to get to the garden or out for walkies. So we hope your family finds a great place to live soon.

    kisses

Hi Honey. Glad you and your humans have made it to Newcastle. Your road trip looked very fun and you are such a good traveler. One of Mom’s friends used to drive from Los Angeles to Stockbridge, Master-chew-sits every summer with her great dane, Esmerelda. Ezzy loved the trip — both ways!

When you get settled, please visit us: http://rottrover.blogspot.com

We are three sweet and spoiled rottweilers :-)

  14. Wow, that looks a really nice place to stay, and they seem really doggie friendly..:D
We hope your humans find a really nice home for you all soon, but in the meantime it looks like you are quite comfy where you are….with your very own kitty tv too. :)

Happy new year to you all, sorry we haven’t kept up with blogs for a while. We hope you had a lovely Christmas and are having a great weekend. :)

  15. Roo says:

What a killer B&B! You are in such a cool place Honey! Yeah I’m with you. Why move anywhere else?

    Waggin at ya,
    Roo

  16. Hi Honey, wow the B&B looks wonderful. It is so nice that there are dog friendly places to stay. Hope you find a new home very soon but until then enjoy yourself. Any other doggies staying there at the moment? Take care all, no worries, love Carol.

  17. sprinkles says:

Your new home looks really beautiful, Honey! I don’t think I’d want to leave the B&B either. But yeah, having to share it with other people might not be so much fun.

Your bed looks big enough for me to sleep on!

  18. Wild Dingo says:

OMD! MOVE over! I’m coming to sleep in that bed with you and adapt along with you. in fact, can’t you just tell your humans you need another human 24/7 around? i can do the job! that looks fantastic!

  19. Jed & Abby in Meryland says:

We LOVE the first photo, with your beautiful ears blowing in the breeze! Is the B&B near enough to the ocean that you can walk on the beach often? The B&B is gorgeous AND you’re allowed in the kitchen! So maybe you should stay a while. Not clear how the Kitty TV works; it looks like the kitty is imprisoned in a small box behind plexiglass, like in a zoo, but we’re sure that impression cannot be correct. You are lucky to be in such a nice B&B and with it’s own small yard you can use! Be sure you give Hsin-Yi and Paul extra slobbery kisses for finding such a nice place for you to all be together while they house hunt. Maybe you should go with them to look at houses, so you can show the prospective landlords what a well behaved doggie you are. Your new bed looks very comfy, and you obviously like it. Once you’re in your new house, you’ll have two beds! We like having a couple of doggie beds in several rooms in the house; never know when the opportunity for a nap will present itself. Good luck with the house hunting!

    Jed & Abby

  20. Yeah, I think you should just tell your humans to stay there permanently. I mean, you’ve got a great garden, and kitty TV in HD. What more could you ask for? In time I’m sure you’d have free run of the place! And once you got to Newcastle, did your parents have to go back to get all their stuff? Your sort of look like you took up the entire back of the car! (But you look like you traveled in style!) Your bed looks quite comfy, too! We can’t wait to read more about what you think of your new hometown!

  21. NovaTheDane says:

OH MY that Kitty TV in HD looks amazing!!! I want to come watch too! I love those rooms they have for you and I LOVE that picture of you on the hill with the waters behind you. wow. you are super stunning Honey!!

I hope you have lots of fun and tail wagging adentures findng your new home!

  22. Lucille says:

    Hi,
forgot to say… I like your new bed!
My human was actually looking at the other one of the XXXXL family, but since you fit perfectly in the Sherbourne one with Hsin-Yi, it is definitely big enough!
We will have a serious thought about that!
    Thanks for the tips :)
    Ciao Lucille

  23. Tee hee, loved the kitty tv. This b and b looks amazing for doggies and humans to stay. I also loved the sign about the kids … I am constantly amazed that so many places turn well-behaved doggies when even well-behaved human pups can cause way more damage! Glad your temporary home is pet-friendly.

  24. Indiana "Bones" Taylor says:

Hello Honey -- I am so glad you, Hsin-Yi and Paul made it to Newcastle ok. What a very nice place you are staying at -- it’s about time they have more dog friendly places for us to be with our humans. My human Diane laughed out loud about the kitty TV part. She told me about your precious Lemon kitty that you lost must too quickly. I also lost my kitty Christina in 2008, she was my kitty friend but she lived to be 17 years old. I hope you can find your new home very soon -- until then, enjoy your in-between home -- it’s like being on vacation! I love vacations with my humans -- so much fun all day long!

    Your friend:

    Indy Bones

  25. Kasha the Dainty Great Dane says:

    Hi Honey,

That looks like a lovely B & B that you are staying at. It looks so cheery. I like your new bed….guess what I got for my birthday?? I got a new bed as well. Mom has to take pictures of it but it’s nice and cozy. I hope you hoomans find you a new home soon.

I wonder if the kitty will ever come out of the HDTV to visit you? This B&B look slike a wonderful place. I hope you all enjoy Newcastle.

  27. That looks like a lovely place to stay while you look for your new home! Kitty TV looks quite exciting!

  28. Elli Davis says:

Well, you seem to be enjoying yourself. The B&B looks awesome and honestly, it is much better than a home which is not according to your needs, isn’t it? Oh, and the most important thing -- the bed looks amazingly comfortable, I envy you!

  29. JD and Max says:

    Hi Honey!

Wow -- we agree with you that where you are now is so amazing why bother looking for another house, he he he! We are especially envious of kitty tv -- it must be a local thing as we don’t seem to get that in the UK -- sigh….! ;)

We loved your road trip post -- you are such an amazing doggie, so adaptable. Hsin-Yi and Paul must be proud of you every single day! :D

Our favourite photo was the one of you posing in the pretty garden -- a girl as beautiful a you should be surrounded by flowers all the time!

Schnauzer snuggles -- JD and Max.

  30. Sapphire says:

*pant! we just finished reading your previous post. you are having the adventure of a lifetime. everything is so exciting :) we look forward to hear more from you when you are all nicely settled in. all the best :)

  33. Sasha says:

BARK! That looks like a fun place. I like staying with mommy and daddy in big one rooms. Then i can keep an eye on them. BARK! Sasha the princess

  34. I think I would get claustrophobic really quickly in such a small place. I hope you find a really nice place really soon. That has to be the absolute worst part of moving. I’m glad everyone is settling in nicely and that you have such a lovely garden and high def Kitty TV. :) I can’t wait to read about more adventures.

  35. preston says:

we are glad Hsin-Yi found a lovely B&B to stay but we hope you find a home in new castle soon.

    wags,
    Preston

  36. That looks like a great place for a temporary home! We hope you find a more permanent one soon!

We love your big bed! We bet Meowm could sleep on one of thise WITH us!
