Today is Muesli’s “Gotcha Day”!
Yup, one year ago today, Muesli came home from the Newcastle RSPCA to join our family.
As some of you know, it was not all plain sailing in the beginning…! 
…but we soon became good friends! 
And Muesli has grown from a scrawny little kitten into a very pretty little cat!
As a special treat for her Gotcha Day, my humans made Muesli her favourite meal! Steak ‘n’ Kidney Pie! (My readers from England & Australia & NZ will know what this is! ) – actually, in Muesli’s case, less of the pie and more of the steak & kidney – ha! ha! Well, my humans noticed that of all of Muesli’s raw meals, she likes the red meat and the offal meals best – especially kidneys. So they thought this would make a good Gotcha Day treat! 
So for breakfast today, she got 60g of beef steak, cut into a heart-shape, and 1/2 a lamb kidney (Hsin-Yi put a whole one in the picture coz it looked better! )
Mm-mmm…Muesli “perked up” as soon as she came in the room and sniffed the air…you should have seen how excited she got when she actually saw her breakfast!!
GIMME THAT!
Once she posed for the photos, Hsin-Yi chopped it up and put it in Muesli’s bowl for her…after that, all you could hear was lots of contented munching – hee! hee! She polished the whole thing off in about 2mins!
And just to show you what a pretty kitty Muesli has grown up to be – here are some pictures that Hsin-Yi got yesterday with her new 50mm ‘portrait’ lens (she is just learning how to use this lens and also how to use her fancy big DLSR camera machine properly – Hsin-Yi is very ashamed that so far, she has mostly been using it on “automatic” – but now she’s practising and learning all about White Balance & Shutter Speed, ISO & Focal Length, etc, etc…it’s a lot to learn! )
Hsin-Yi also wanted to get a new picture of me & Muesli together – she hadn’t got any nice ones lately – and she wanted a nice ‘portrait’ of the 2 us us together to mark Muesli’s ‘Gotcha Day’…but typical kitty, Muesli was just not in a “cooperative mood”! She would not stay still next to me…so this was the best that Hsin-Yi could do!

Wow -- that time flew huh?? I’m so happy that you two are friends…..I don’t know if I could do that…mum says I go ballistic at puss cats. I just am excited! Anywho -- mum’s jelly of your Hsin-Yi’s big camera -- and she would also just rely on “auto” and put off doin’ it all technical like. The pictures are beautiful -- especially the second one where Muesli is walking towards the camera.

It doesn’t seem possible that a whole year has gone by since we first met Muesli! She is a very pretty cat, and she knows it! You can see it in her eyes. And she clearly loved her birthday breakfast. Hope the leftovers are enjoyable as well.

Happy “Gotsha Day! Muesli! Never heard of a day like it! But I like the idea!! And I love your photos as always! May I ask, what kind of kamera you got? Still thinking of getting me ab big camera too…
Hi Jeannie -- my camera is a Canon EOS 7D -- it was recommended by a photographer friend. It IS a very powerful camera, especially fast for action shots (which was the main reason I wanted to upgrade -- coz I kept missing shots of Honey & friends playing & running!) -- but gosh, does it weigh a TON!! It’s like carrying around a typewriter! So not very practical for every day, unfortunately…
It might be to do with the lens though -- the lens I got with it is a 18 ~ 135mm zoom lens and that is most of the weight. When I put the 50mm lens on it, it weighs a LOT less!
