Ombre the Standard Schnauzer

Ombre the Standard Schnauzer

Ombre

This is my boyfriend & best friend, Ombre. We met in puppy class back in Auckland and it was love at first sight! :D

Ombre is a Standard Schnauzer and although he is smaller than me, I always listen to what he says because he is much smarter than me – and because he can beat me up if he gets mad!

I loved playing with Ombre because I can play really, really rough and he doesn’t mind – he just bounces off the tree/rock/wall/car and comes back for more!

He’s also really good at Tug – and he never gets tired, even when I’m exhausted!

Ombre has a really cute bum with a little stubby tail which he wags madly. He likes to stick his bum in my face to make me play with him – or jump up and grab my jowls. I try to squash him with my paws but he is always too quick for me!

Bodie dancing...

Bodie

Bodie is fiesty Border Terrier – I met him when Hsin-Yi took me to the special training for doggie dancing (Canine Freestyle) back in Auckland. He is very cute and he can stand up and dance on his back legs.

Bodie has his own blog at:

www.smallbrowndogs.blogspot.com

We were part of the same doggie dancing club in Auckland and used to meet on Thursday nights at the Auckland Exhibition Centre at Ardmore to practise our dance routines.

.

.

In fact, Bodie and I even did a Pairs Routines together – the first of its kind! :P Here is a video of us dancing together:

.

.

Bodie is also a Therapy Dog and so after his visits, we used to meet up at Waiatarua Reserve for a big walk together.

Cinnamon

Pretty Cinnamon...

I met my friend, Cinnamon the Beagle, through my blog!

Even though we both lived in Auckland (quite close to each other, really!), we had never bumped into each other when out on walks.

But then one day Cinnamon left a message on my blog…and we’ve been great friends ever since!

.

.

.

Cinnamon also has her own blog at: http://beaglesnz.blogspot.com/

Cinnamon is a multi-talented doggie – she has done Agility and is a fantastic chaser in Hound Racing (lure coursing) and she has also recently started doing “doggie dancing” like me!

Cinnamon used to have a lovely older brother called Cookie but sadly, he has gone to the Rainbow Bridge now.

Lucky Bear

This is my friend, Lucky Bear, who is also a Therapy Dog like me.

Lucky Bear is very gentle and good with children, old people and handicapped people.

He is also a bit of a ‘Mummy’s boy’ – sometimes, if I play too rough, he will cry and run away! But other times, he will chase me and try to bite my back legs, which makes me sit on his head…

Lucky Bear trying to bite my back legs...

Lucky Bear’s human, Leeanne, rescued him when he was a puppy and adopted him. She is not sure who his mummy and daddy are but they think maybe they were an Akita and a Rottweiler or maybe even a Bullmastiff. People always love Lucky Bear because he is looks like a big, fluffy, cuddly teddy bear. He can do lots of cool tricks, like howling when Leeanne sings.

Me and Delilah at training class

Delilah & me at training class

My sister, Delilah

This is my big sister, Delilah. We were the only 2 girls in the litter. She was going to become a show dog but then our breeders changed their minds and she went to a pet home when she was 8 months old.

I really like her, even though she always wants to boss me around. She is much stronger than I am and if I don’t listen to her, she will flip me over on my back and growl in my face! :D

My humans think that she looks more like our daddy, Blade, who was very muscular, and I look more like our mummy, Brenna, who was tall with long legs.

Sisterly love...

Kira

Kira jumping the fire hoop!

My friend, Kira, is part of the German Shepherd Display Team and does this amazing trick where she jumps through a fire hoop!

I met Kira when Hsin-Yi started teaching a ‘doggie dancing’ class at Flip’s Top Dog - and Kira’s human brought her to learn some clicker training and dancing moves. She is really clever and learns everything so quickly and so well.

We hit it off instantly! She loves being chased and is always teasing me, trying to get me to run after her – we always have a really good play at the end of class and zoom around, especially around Flip’s trailer!

Bertie

This is my friend, Bertie the Pug, who I met at Flip’s Top Dog.

He is very cute – my human, Hsin-Yi, thinks that he looks like my “Mini-Me”!

I had to be careful when I was playing with him because he was little and I might have hurt him - but it was really hard when he was wriggling all around me!

He liked to climb on me when I am sleeping on the bed and chew my head!

Here is a video of him giving me a “head massage”!

Romy - fastest dog in the class!

Romy

This is my friend Romy, from training class at All Breeds Obedience Club. She was the fastest dog in class!

Romy’s humans adopted her from rescue and she is still a little bit nervous sometimes – I think because bad things happened to her before – but her humans are very patient and they help her learn not to be so scared.

Me and Khan the Akita

Me and Khan the Akita

Khan

My friend, Khan, is an Akita and he is always really chilled out.

We met at Flip’s Top Dog, back in Auckland.  When we used to play together, he stood on his back legs like a bear or he tried to chew my back legs! :P

He also runs in a funny way – sort of hopping like a rabbit!

Hsin-Yi says he is very sweet. I didn’t see him so often after we grew up. Sometimes I met him in the dog park but he was not so interested in playing anymore – he hasn’t had his “operation” and so he is more interested in doing kissy-kissy things with girl dogs now. But we still had a nice sniff hello when we saw each other.

.

George looking very dashing & debonair...

George (aka. Wasserfluh Volten)

George is a really cool Bernese Mountain Dog – he is very friendly and goes up to every dog he sees to say hello.

We were often creched together at Flip’s Top Dog and we loved “chilling” together.

George goes to work with his human every day and the couriers love him so much that they will drop in even when they have no deliveries, just to see George! :)

George does the ‘modelling thing’ too – he was in a big street picture telling people about the “Blessing of the Animals” (2007) and he was also in an advertising campaign reminding people to vaccinate their pets.

George REALLY, REALLY loves squeaky toys – he goes mad for his squeaking stuffed ducky in class!

Check out this video of me and George learning to swim with Flip!

Me and Rex playing

Me and Rex playing

Rex

Rex lived near me in Auckland and we met one day when he escaped from his home and Hsin-Yi found him wandering.

We brought him home and while she called Animal Control to find out who he belonged to, Rex and I started playing a great game in the living room! There wasn’t a lot of space but it was still great fun!

Here is a video of us playing:

You let go! No, you let go!

You let go! No, you let go!

Dozer

I loved chasing Dozer around Waiata Reserve back in Auckland.

He is a very friendly, little Border Terrier and he loves carrying a stick around, teasing you to chase him!

I try really hard but I can never catch him.

Diesel

I used to play with Diesel a lot when he was a puppy but I don’t see him so much anymore.

He’s a really cool Bull Terrier and we played lots of wrestling games!

Otis

Me and Otis playing

My friend, Otis, is the fastest dog in Waiata Reserve back in Auckland! He loves getting other dogs to chase him and we always had a good play together when we met in the park… He is actually getting on but he still runs around like a puppy.

Hugo

Hugo

Hugo was also in my training class at All Breeds Dog Obedience Club in Auckland. He is a Greyhound/Bull Terrier cross and he is also very fast!

He used to be very naughty in class – every time his human shouted “Come”, he would shoot off and zoom around, saying hello to other dogs in other classes. It was very funny because everybody starts chasing him and shouting.

But his human has been doing lots of training with him and now, Hugo is really well-behaved…well, most of the time! ;)  He comes when he is called and sits beautifully and does really cool tricks…just goes to show what consistent training can achieve! He is still a very bouncy dog!

Zoe the Boxer

Zoe the Boxer

“The Waiata Boxers”

These are my friends Zoe, Boston, Lucy, Hugo and Gigi, the Boxers. They always meet up in Waiata Reserve, Auckland at 4pm every day for a walk.

My favourite was Zoe, who always wanted me to chase her – I tried really hard but I could never catch her! She also liked to steal my tennis ball – if she gets a ball, she never gives it back, even when the humans ask her to! :)

When we all started playing together, it gets very noisy with happy and excited growls as we run around after each other and wrestle together…!
